Kansas City Board Of Trade Sets New All-time Monthly Volume Record

The Kansas City Board of Trade, for the first time in exchange history, traded over 450,000 contracts in a calendar month. This accomplishment has shattered several volume records. A total of 454,947 contracts traded during the month of August, breaking the previous monthly exchange record of 383,760 contracts set in September 2002 by 18.5 percent.

ISE Reports Monthly Volume For August 2005: Average Daily Volume Up 25 Percent versus Prior Year

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE: ISE) today reported equity options trading volume for August 2005. Average daily trading volume in equity options contracts increased 25.1% to 1.5 million contracts traded as compared to 1.2 million contracts traded in the same period in the prior year. Total equity options volume for the month increased 30.8% to 35.1 million contracts traded as compared to 26.8 million contracts traded in the same year-ago period.

Eurex Turnover Climbs To Around 90 Million Contracts In August - Turnover For First Eight Months Up Around 17 Percent Year-On-Year

In August, Eurex, the world’s largest derivatives exchange saw turnover increase by around 19 percent to 90 million contracts against the same period last year (August 2004: 75.7 million contracts). At 821 million contracts, the turnover volume achieved in the first eight months of this year has eclipsed the same period last year by around 17 percent (January – August 2004: 704 million contracts).

CBOT August Average Daily Volume Climbs 17.8 Percent From Last Year - August Volume Rises To Third Best Month Ever In Exchange History - Electronic Platform Experiences All-time Record Trading Day

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that Exchange-wide average daily volume (ADV) continued to climb in August. Average daily volume rose to 2,721,612 contracts in August, up 12.7 percent from the same period last year and 19.3 percent year-to-date (YTD). In addition, total volume in August rose to its third highest level ever at 62,597,066 contracts, up 17.8 percent from the same period in 2004 and 19.3 percent YTD.

CBOT 2-Yr. U.S. Treasury Note Futures Set New Record - CBOT Total Daily Volume Reaches 3rd Highest Level In Exchange History

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced yesterday that CBOT Two-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures traded a record-breaking 339,974 contracts on August 30, 2005, surpassing the previous high of 295,190 contracts set on May 27, 2005. Total Exchange daily volume hit 5,377,433 contracts, the CBOT’s third highest volume day ever.

Boston Options Exchange Continues Trend Of Growth With Strong August Showing, Volume Up 325% Over 2004

BOX’s share of total OCC equity option volume was 6.5% for August 2005 while the BOX share of total OCC option volume reached 5.9% and market share for the 504 equity options listed on BOX was 7.8%. Each of these percentages represents the second best month in BOX’s 18 months of operation as each is within 0.1% it’s respective record.
