TSX Group Amending Stock Symbol Codes In 2006 - Industry Consultation Leads To Removal of Certain Symbol Extensions

The “special voting” stock symbol extension program introduced in 2004 to indicate unique voting structures will be discontinued by TSX Group’s equity exchanges (Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange) in early 2006. These changes are the result of an extensive consultation process with market participants – many of whom had been lobbying TSX Group for changes to the 2004 symbol modifications.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday, December 21, 2005: Pine Valley Mining Corporation (TSXVN:PVM) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to the TSX to trade under the same ticker symbol.

Share Quantities In BALTIX For Q1 2006

December contracts saw record open interest to deliveries ratio. Out of the 20 commodities delivered on the exchange, 12 commodities saw open interest to deliveries ratio of above 80%.

LME Completes Tender Process For Steel Price Compilers

The LME is now beginning the short-listing of price compilers who could work with the Exchange to develop and publish LME steel reference prices for at least six benchmark steel products. The decision on the chosen compiler(s) will be announced in the second quarter of 2006 and is part of the process through which the LME will develop price risk management tools for the steel industry.
