Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index
Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, April 26, 2004: Champion Resources Inc. (TSXVN:CHA) will change its name to Red Back Mining Inc. and will trade under the ticker symbol “RBI” and new CUSIP number 756297 10 7. The shares of the company will be consolidated on a 3-for-1 basis.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the appointment of Peter H. Bresnan as an Associate Director in the Division of Enforcement. As Associate Director, Mr. Bresnan will serve as a senior official in the Division of Enforcement and will assist in planning and directing the Commission's investigations and other enforcement efforts.

RTS Stock Exchzange: Order-Driven Market Sets New Record
On the 23rd of April, 2004, the joint RTS Stock Exchange and St. Petersburg Stock Exchange Order-Driven market posted the new all-time record volume, exceeding 6,5 billion rubles. 2 900 transactions were executed, with 111,8 million shares changing hands.

For the week of April 19th – April 23rd, 2004, the total trading volume of direct and indirect transactions (including REPO transactions) reached 18 525 million rubles. Internet trading accounted for 38%, slightly down from 39% the week before. 13 600 transactions were executed, 6% more than the week before.

Oslo Børs: Interim Reporting By Listed Companies Shows Improvement
Listed companies have shown a clear improvement in following the accounting standard for interim reporting. This is the conclusion of a survey of interim reports for the fourth quarter of 2003 carried out by Oslo Børs. However too many companies are still publishing reports that do not fully meet the standard, and Oslo Børs will continue its work in this area through direct follow up of these companies.
