CME Targets European Market Users With Eurozone HICP Inflation Futures Contract

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today announced plans to launch a European inflation futures contract based on the Eurozone Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices ex Tobacco (HICP). When launched, this contract will complement CME’s existing U.S. inflation futures contract, which began trading in 2004. UK's Financial Services Authority Fines Bear Stearns For Transaction Reporting Failures

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today fined Bear Stearns International Limited ("BSIL") £40,000 for failing to report contracts for differences (CFD) transactions. Neither a trading participant (for its own account) nor a customer may hold an aggregate position in contract units on an Equity Option in excess of such number of contracts units having shares of underlying stock equal to following amounts of combining short positions in put options with long positions in call options of the same underlying stock or combining long positions in put options with short positions in call options of the same underlying stock.

Securities Industry Association: ‘SEC In Good Hands’ With Chairman Cox - Association Calls On New Chairman To Lead On Balanced, Effective Regulation
