Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, February 6, 2006: Wesdome Gold Mines Inc. (TSXVN:WDG) will be removed from the index as a result from the amalgamation of the Company with River Gold Mines Ltd. Pacific Energy Resources Ltd. (TSXVN: PFE.S) will trade under the new ticker symbol "PFE" and will not be changing its name or CUSIP number. There is no consolidation of capital.

Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox today announced the appointment of Rose Romero as the District Administrator of the Commission’s Fort Worth District Office (FWDO). In this position, Romero will oversee both the enforcement and examination programs within the FWDO’s jurisdiction. She is expected to assume her position in early March. The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that pending approval by its Board of Governors on February 8, 2006, a new brand of pulp will be available for delivery against its Pulp contract. The new brand, Mondi Packaging’s Bohemia Kraft Pulp SW ECF, begins with the February 2006 contract, which expires February 19, 2006.
