Cash products 18.5 million transactions were completed on Euronext’s cash market in January 2006, up 42.8% on the same month last year, making it the busiest month ever and surpassing the previous record level of 15.1 million registered in September 2005. ISE Reports Record Monthly Volume For January 2006 - Average Daily Volume Record Of 2.7 Million Contracts, 50% Increase Vs. January 2005

The International Securities Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ISE) today reported that average daily trading volume for equity and index options contracts for January 2006 increased 49.5% to 2.7 million contracts as compared to 1.8 million contracts during the same period in 2004. Total equity and index options volume for the month increased 49.5% to 53.8 million contracts from 36.0 million contracts in the same year-ago period.

The international derivatives exchange Eurex reported on Tuesday that it traded a total of 118 million contracts in January, up 24 percent on January 2005 and up 37 percent on the previous trading month. CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today said average daily volume in January was 4.7 million contracts, up 27 percent from the same period a year ago. Total monthly volume was more than 94 million contracts.
