SEC Charges Former Comverse Technology, Inc. CEO, CFO, And General Counsel In Stock Option Backdating Scheme - U.S. Attorney's Office For The Eastern District Of New York Files Separate Criminal Complaint

The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed civil charges against three former senior executives of Comverse Technology, Inc. (Comverse), alleging that they engaged in a decade-long fraudulent scheme to grant undisclosed, in-the-money options to themselves and to others by backdating stock option grants to coincide with historically low closing prices of Comverse common stock. Sarbanes-Oxley - SEC Offers Further Relief From Section 404 Compliance For Smaller Public Companies And Many Foreign Private Issuers

The Securities and Exchange Commission today issued two releases to grant smaller public companies and many foreign private issuers further relief from compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The relief is in furtherance of the "next steps for Sarbanes-Oxley implementation" (SEC Press Release 2006-75) announced on May 17, 2006, and includes some new initiatives not previously announced.

Record Quarter For Euronext - Revenues: €289.6m, Up 21.4% YOY - Half Year 2006 Revenues Improve Strongly YOY: +20.9%, To €557.7m

Revenues for the second quarter of 2006 reached a record of €289.6m, representing a progress of 21.4% compared to the €238.6m achieved during the same period in 2005. For the first six months of 2006, revenues amounted to €557.7m, up 20.9% on H1, 2005 revenues. This strong performance has been achieved in spite of the impact of changes in the scope of consolidation.

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that its Federal Fund futures contract set a record on Tuesday as volume surged to 286,935 contracts. The previous high mark, 262,840 contracts, was set on August 4, 2006.
