FORTS (Futures & Options On The RTS Stock Exchange) Derivatives Market
For the week of May 24th – May 28th, 2004, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) grew 5% in rubles and 4% in contracts and reached 994 thousand contracts and 7 621 million rubles. Total open interest as of May 28th, 2004 increased by 1% in rubles and 3% in contracts and reached 9 114 million rubles and 1 214 thousand contracts.

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Records Highest Trading Volume
Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad recorded the highest trading volume of 26,831 contracts on 27 May 2004, superseding the previous record of 21,919 contracts which was recorded on 25 February 2004.

London Metal Exchange Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Shanghai Futures Exchange
The London Metal Exchange (LME) and the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to pursue joint business development initiatives in commodities products, the first such agreement between SHFE and a European exchange. Under the agreement, the Exchanges will discuss a variety of initiatives, including future product development, mutual sharing of information and assistance with the understanding of market regulation and compliance issues.

World Federation Of Exchanges: Information For Clearing Houses
The WFE Secretariat on 26 May circulated a response to clearing community of WFE and IOMA/IOCA concerning the CPSS-IOSCO Task Force consultation. The comments prepared by CCP 12, are available from the Secretariat which has offered to coordinate information. The comment period finishes on 9 June 2004. . Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index
Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, May 28, 2004: TIR Systems Ltd. (TSXVN:TIY) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol “TIR” at the open on Monday, May 31, 2004. Pareto Corporation (TSXVN:PTO) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol “PTO” at the open on Tuesday, June
