Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of Extendicare Inc. (TSX:EXE.A) have agreed to the proposal to convert the company to an income trust to be named Extendicare REIT (TSX:EXE.UN). Extendicare Inc. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Equity, Capped Equity, Equity SmallCap and Capped Health Care Indices. Standard & Poor's Announces The S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index Rebalancing Report For October 2006

Standard & Poor's has completed the monthly rebalancing of the S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index. According to index methodology, the universe of Canadian bonds is exhaustively reviewed to reflect changes in par amount and term to existing index constituents. Qualifying new issues are added to the index and existing constituents that no longer meet the criteria for inclusion are removed.

The Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange ended the first nine months of 2006 with a volume greater than that registered during the entire year of 2005. From January to September the accumulated volume was 199,001,351 contracts, in comparison to 197,950,474 contracts traded from January to December of last year.
