Cairn Energy Rejoins FTSE 100

FTSE Group, the global index provider, has confirmed today that Cairn Energy will re-enter the FTSE 100 after a six month absence, at close of business on Friday 16th September. The oil & gas exploration and production company first entered the index a year ago. Joining Cairn in the UK blue chip index is the online gaming giant Partygaming, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in June.

The distressed securities benchmark gained 1.36% in August and is up 5.41% for the year while the event driven benchmark is up 0.61% for the month and 5.13% on a YTD basis.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, September 6, 2005: Jilbey Gold Exploration Ltd. (TSXVN:JLB) will be removed from the index.
