Deutsche Börse Launches New Shortdax® Strategy Index - New Index Methodology Allows Investors To Participate In Falling Prices

Deutsche Börse launched the new ShortDAX® strategy index on Tuesday, further expanding its offering in the DAXplus® index family. The performance of the ShortDAX is directly opposed to that of the DAX® index, i.e. if the DAX rises by 5 percent, the ShortDAX falls by 5 percent, and vice versa. This makes Deutsche Börse the first index provider in Europe to develop an effective short strategy in the form of an index. BME’s Net Profit In The Fourth Quarter Climbed 41.4% To € 38.38 Million, From € 27.14 Million In The Same Year-Earlier Period - BME Reports 2006 Net Profit Of More Than € 130 Million

BME’s revenues rose 21.4% to 287.74 million euros in 2006 from 2005 EBITDA increased 30.7% in the same period to € 191.35 million. Operating revenues in the fourth quarter totalled € 83.67 million. The efficiency ratio—costs as a percentage of revenues—stood at 33.5% at year end, a significant improvement over the 38.2% figure a year earlier.

Standard & Poor’s And The Australian Securities Exchange: New Index Methodology Enabling Inclusion Of Foreign-Domiciled Companies

Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) today announced index methodology enhancements to accommodate the inclusion of foreign-domiciled entities within the S&P/ASX indices. The revised methodology follows a thorough consultation process with index stakeholders, and the announcement in September 2006 that the index methodology would be revised to enable the inclusion of foreign-domiciled companies.

Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange Issue Member Management Rules

To regulate members' securities trading and relevant businesses as well as to guarantee trading safety, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), upon approval by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, issue today (February 26) the "SSE Member Management Rules" and the "SZSE Member Management Rules", respectively. The rules will be officially implemented from May 1, 2007.

CBOE Prevails In Motion To Return Suit Against ISE To Illinois State Court

Today, CBOE, Dow Jones, and McGraw-Hill/S&P won the right to keep their lawsuit against the International Securities Exchange (ISE) in Illinois state court. This lawsuit was filed to prevent ISE from listing and trading index options on the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average in conflict with CBOE's exclusive license for options on those indexes.
NYMEX To Suspend Additional Block Trading Fee For Energy Futures Contracts
