Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Records Best-Ever Monthly Volume

Total monthly trading volume of futures and options on Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. (WCE) during June 2007 reached 352,231 contracts, breaking records set in February 2001. This level of trade is 38.3% higher than June 2006.

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 6 July 2007, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. In June 2007, total turnover on SWX and virt-x amounted to CHF 230 billion, a 45.5 % gain versus the same month last year. The quarterly comparison reveals an increase of 3.6 % over Q1 2007 and 14.0 % versus Q2 2006. Compared to the first quarter of this year, turnover in individual issues declined somewhat but, on the whole, trading in shares incl. funds rose by 5.6 %. Mr. Andy Yeh takes office as Chairman of Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) on July 4th, 2007. Prior to joining TAIFEX, Mr. Yeh was the Chairman of Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC). The former Chairman of TAIFEX, Dr. Rong-I Wu, has been appointed as Chairman of Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC).
