Warsaw Exchange Announces The WIG Index New All-time High

WIG, all-share index, closed at its highest ever level since its launch in April 1991. The market benchmark reached today the new all time high with 34,497.14 points. The previous record was set on December 7, 2005 with 34,481.24.

On the listing day of December 8, while a special bid quote was being displayed, a large sell order by Mizuho Securities Co. (below Mizuho Sec.) caused the price of J-COM Co., Ltd. (below J-COM) shares to quickly drop to 572,000 yen, the lower share price limit, after the initial price was determined at 672,000 yen. The share price then reversed and suddenly rose to the upper limit of 772,000 yen. During this period, a large amount of executions were made at the lower price limit.

Tokyo Stock Exchange President/CEO's Discourse Regarding The Decision On The Handling Of Settlement Of J-COM, Ltd. Shares

On December 8, the date that J-COM, Ltd. was newly listed, a large number of executions were made when a massive erroneous order was placed by Mizuho Securities Co.As a result, the transfer of a large number of shares became necessary, and the possibility arose of settlements remaining incomplete for a long period of time.As such the TSE believes that continuing trading of J-COM's shares would not be appropriate, and as such has halted trading since December 9.
