Macquarie London Exchange Investments Limited (“MLX”) - Cash Offer For The London Stock Exchange Plc (“LSE”) - Offer Update - MLX Will Not Increase The Terms Of Existing Offer And Will Not Extend Its Offer Beyond 28 February 2006

Since posting the Offer Document on 10 January 2006, MLX has spent considerable time meeting with key LSE shareholders and user groups. Following these discussions, MLX has concluded that an increased offer on terms acceptable to MLX and its investors is unlikely to be acceptable to LSE Shareholders. As a result, MLX has determined that it will not increase the terms of its existing Offer and that it will not extend its Offer beyond 28 February 2006.
