American Stock Exchange Reports Decrease In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 949,153,193 shares as of the October 13, 2006 settlement date, a decrease of 15,720,216 from the 964,873,409 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-September. The October figure represents trades through October 10, 2006.

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006: Woolworths Ltd. (Australia, SEDOL: 6981239, GICS Code: 30101030), a member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index, will increase its shares to 1,200,302,199. This change is the result of a dividend-reinvestment plan.

CBOT Fed Watch - October 19 Market Close

In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on October 25, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

The Not From Concentrate (“NFC”) orange juice futures contract will begin trading at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) this Friday, October 20. The first futures month to be traded will be the January 2007 contract. For the first day of futures trading only, the NFC market will begin trading at 11:00 am (NY Time).

National Stock Exchange Appoints Joseph S. Rizzello As CEO Of The Exchange

National Stock Exchange, Inc. (NSX(SM)) today announced that Joseph S. Rizzello has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Exchange. Mr. Rizzello has assumed the responsibilities of NSX CEO in addition to his duties as Chairman of the Board of NSX Holdings, Inc., a position to which he was elected on September 22, 2006. NSX Holdings, Inc. is the parent of NSX.
