SEC Staff Hold <i>CCOutreach</i> Program For SEC Investment Advisers In Europe

Securities and Exchange Commission staff announced today that it conducted a CCOutreach seminar for European-based investment advisers registered with the SEC. The program included over 50 participants representing investment advisers registered with the SEC based in Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Switzerland. The program was hosted by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) in Luxembourg.

SEC Sues Cardinal Health, Inc. For Fraudulent Earnings And Revenue Management Scheme - Pharmaceutical Distribution Company To Pay $35 Million Penalty

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Cardinal Health, Inc., a pharmaceutical distribution company based in Dublin, Ohio, has agreed to pay $35 million to settle charges that it engaged in a nearly four-year long fraudulent revenue and earnings management scheme, as well as other improper accounting and disclosure practices.

BOX Beats Previous Daily Contract Volume Record In Three Of Last Four Trading Sessions

On July 20, 2007, BOX traded 960,470 contracts, breaking by far its previous volume record of 775,858 contracts. In addition, BOX has traded over 800,000 contracts in two of the subsequent three trading sessions, reaching market shares over 6% of all OCC equity options volume.

Dalian Commodity Exchange: The China Securities Regulatory Commission Approved The Trading Of LLDPE

China approved the trading of Linear Low density Polyethylene (a raw material in plastics) futures in Dalian Commodity Exchange, the China Securities Regulatory Commission said on its Web site today. This would be the third futures product launched in China's commodity market this year after zinc and rapeseed oil. The Dalian exchange has finished the preparation work related to the futures contract, and may begin trading the product at the end of this month, the commission said.
