The MCX COMDEX closed at 2,091.88 down 4.13 points during the course of the week; while the MCX Agri Index closed at 1,625.29 up 27.25 points; MCX Energy Index closed at 2,233.66 down 62.91 points and MCX Metal Index closed at 2,416.69 up 23.26 points. The Exchange has recorded a total weekly turnover of Rs. 45,227.88 crore for the period October 6-12, 2006.

TAIFEX Sets Daily Trading Volume Records On TEO, TFO And MSO

The Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) today announced that the daily trading volume of Taiwan Stock Exchange Electronic Sector Index Options (TEO) and Taiwan Stock Exchange Finance Sector Index Options (TFO) hit all time highs with 21,865 contracts and 23,871 contracts traded respectively. The new records of TEO and TFO were 38.16% and 43.22% greater than the previous records.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC's) Office of General Counsel issued a no-action letter on October 11, 2006, permitting the offer and sale in the United States of the Taiwan Futures Exchange’s (TAIFEX’s) futures contract based on the MSCI Taiwan Index (MSCI Taiwan).
