CBOT To Launch Contract On The Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index
The Chicago Board of Trade, DowSMJones Indexes and AIG Trading Group Inc. (AIG Trading), a member company of American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), today announced the launch of a futures contract on the DowSMJones-AIG Commodity IndexSM (DJ-AIGCI). The CBOT® expects to launch the DJ-AIGCISM futures contract in the fourth quarter of 2001, on a/c/e, its electronic trading platform.

Amendments To The Main Board Listing Rules And GEM Listing Rules To Dispense With The Exchange's Portion Of The Transaction Levy And Introduce A Trading Fee
With effect from 1 September 2001, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong ("the Exchange") will cease to be entitled to its portion of the transaction levy and will introduce a trading fee of an equivalent amount. The trading fee will be calculated at the rate of 0.005% per side of the consideration of the transaction, payable by each of the buyer and the seller, or 0.01% of the total consideration of the transaction.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 28.6 Billion Krónur
The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on July 17th the maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.9 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 28.6 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

SEC Further Extends Time For Banks To Comply With Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act Broker-Dealer Registration Requirements And Extends Comment Period
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it issued an order further extending until May 12, 2002 the compliance dates for banks with respect to the broker-dealer registration requirements contained in the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The Commission also indicated that it anticipates amending the interim final rules it issued on May 11, 2001, concerning these requirements, and the Commission issued a notice extending the comment period on the rules until September 4, 2001. Nasdaq's Second-Quarter 2001 Results - Share Volume Up Over One Year Ago
The Nasdaq Stock Market® today announced that daily volume on Nasdaq averaged 1.9 billion shares in the second quarter of this year, an 18.7 percent increase from 1.6 billion shares in the second quarter of 2000. Eleven of the 50 largest trading sessions ever on Nasdaq® occurred in the second quarter of 2001. Nasdaq also experienced its most active single session in the second quarter, when 3.19 billion shares were traded on April 18, 2001.
