OMX, a leading expert in the exchange industry, and Nord Pool, the Nordic Power Exchange, have signed an agreement regarding extended cooperation. OMX will provide one single solution for both trading and clearing. The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) issues a notice to the advanced units for their preparation for the launch of the New Generation Trading System (NGTS). Among the complimentary list are 10 securities companies, including Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. (HTSEC) and Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd. (GTJA), and 2 fund management companies, China Asset Management Co., Ltd. (ChinaAMC) and Hua An Fund Management Co., Ltd. (Hua An).

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 769,743,151 shares as of the January 12, 2007 settlement date, a decrease of 2,150,985 from the 771,894,136 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-December. The January figure represents trades through January 9, 2007.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, January 19, 2007: Effective with the Q1/2007 S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index review, income trusts will now be eligible for consideration for inclusion in the index.
