TSX Group To Launch New Alternative High-Velocity Market

TSX Group announces its intent to launch a new parallel, distinct order book that will operate alongside the TSX QuantumTM central limit order book. Internally codenamed TSX Photon, it will feature a differentiated market structure and pricing schedule optimized for high-velocity traders trading high-velocity symbols in a transparent auction market.

Toronto Stock Exchange Senior VP At Gala Annuel Des Sociétés Boursières 2008

During a speech at the Gala Annuel des Sociétés boursières 2008, Richard Nadeau, Senior Vice President of Toronto Stock Exchange, told attendees that Quebec remains an important marketplace for the exchange group. Not only is TSX working on a business combination with the Montreal Exchange but there are many local initiatives also underway to further build local presence in Quebec.

LME Appoints A Commercial Director

The London Metal Exchange has today announced the appointment of Liz Milan as Director, Commercial Department and Craig Hewett as Deputy Director. They will head up a new department combining all LME marketing and commercial activities. Liz will also join the LME Executive Committee.

FINRA announced today that it has settled cases against five firms for mutual fund sales and supervisory violations - including improper sales of Class B and Class C mutual fund shares and failure to have supervisory systems designed to provide all eligible investors with the opportunity to purchase Class A mutual fund shares at net asset value (NAV) through NAV transfer programs.
