CFTC Names Members Of The Energy Markets Advisory Committee - First EMAC Meeting Scheduled For June 10

Today, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced the members of its recently-formed Energy Markets Advisory Committee. CFTC Acting Chairman Walter L. Lukken is the Chairman of the EMAC. It is designed to provide a public forum to examine emerging issues related to the energy markets and the CFTC’s role in these markets under the Commodity Exchange Act.

Record attendance at this year's training program totaled 192 senior securities officials from 76 foreign jurisdictions, including four jurisdictions attending the Institute for the first time.

Average daily volume (ADV) in futures during April rose 14%, and OTC commissions increased 96% over April 2007.

Markit, a leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing, today announced that Liquidnet Europe Limited (“Liquidnet Europe”), one of Europe’s largest ‘dark pools’ of liquidity and TradeTech European Award winner for Best Overall Execution Venue, has chosen Markit BOAT as its preferred trade reporting platform. Liquidnet Europe is the third Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) to join Markit BOAT since its launch on 1 November 2007.
