NASD Fines BRUT $2.2 Million for Publishing Erroneous Execution Quality Reports, Other Violations
NASD announced today that it has ordered New York's BRUT, LLC to pay $2.2 million for rule violations relating to publication of erroneous order execution quality reports, backing away from the firm's posted quotes, failure to maintain two-sided quotations, failure to comply with the rules applicable to trade-throughs and locked and/or crossed markets, non-retention of emails, OATS deficiencies and inadequate supervision. KCBT Sets New Single-day Volume Record - KCBT Wheat Futures Trade Nearly 40,000 Contracts
The Kansas City Board of Trade wheat futures volume on Wednesday, August 2 amounted to 39,711 contracts, exceeding all previous single-day volume records. The previous record of 37,253 contracts was set on February 24 of this year. Each wheat futures contract represents 5,000 bushels, with trading volume yesterday amounting to 198.56 million bushels.

CBOT Fed Watch - August 3 Market Close
In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on August 8, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
