    The membership rally continues at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX or Exchange), which announced that membership values continued to rise with three sales on Wednesday at the record prices of $85,000 for two and $90,000 for one. These three sales follow on the heels of two others that occurred on Feb. 12 at $80,000.

  • SEC: Fee Rate Advisory #6 For Fiscal Year 2007

    The Congress has passed and the President is expected to sign House Joint Resolution 20, the continuing resolution that will fund many federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, for the remainder of FY 2007. This continuing resolution shall be deemed the Commission's "regular appropriation" for FY 2007, and therefore, when signed into law, will trigger changes in the rates of fees collected by the SEC.   • NASD Charges Two Former Prudential Brokers With Facilitating Hedge Fund Manager's Deceptive Market Timing In Variable Annuities Branch Manager Charged With Supervisory Failures

    NASD announced today that it has charged two Utah brokers, Jeffrey Doerr and David Corn, with facilitating a hedge fund manager's deceptive practices to market time through variable annuities offered by three different life insurance companies. Both Doerr and Corn were registered with Prudential Securities, Inc. (PSI) - now known as Prudential Equity Group - but have since left the firm. NASD also charged the brokers' branch manager, Darrel Trost, with failing to supervise their activities.<
