HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 2 January 2009, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The index is down 5.96 points, or -2.99% over the last five trading days. The index is off -46.39% from its 2008 closing high of 360.08, hit on January 2. The index is off -47.08% from 52 weeks ago. Month-to-date, it is down -6.40%. Year-to-date, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 is down -47.06%.
