    Standard & Poor's will make the following change in the S&P/TSX Canadian Telecommunication Services Sector Index: Effective after the close of trading on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, the following change will take place in the S&P/TSX Canadian Telecommunication Services Sector Index. The weight of Telus Corporation (TSX: T) will increase by approximately 4.29% in the S&P/TSX Canadian Telecommunication Services Sector Index.     The Securities and Exchange Commission today posted to its Web site a list of the 947 companies whose top officials are required to file sworn statements attesting to the accuracy of the companies' most recent annual and quarterly financial reports. The list will link to the sworn statements as they are posted.

    From July 22, 2002, to July 26, 2002, the total turnover in RTS Bonds system - the system that facilitates trading of corporate, government, municipal debt, and Eurobonds - dropped to 551 thousand US dollars, down from 998 thousand US dollars the previous week. The number of executed trades increased from 9 to 10.

    The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq®) today announced that it will delist the securities of WorldCom, Inc. (Nasdaq: WCOEQ, MCWEQ, MCPEQ). The decision was based upon the company's failure to comply with the Nasdaq listing requirement that the company remain current in its periodic filings with the SEC, and based upon concerns related to the Company's ongoing bankruptcy proceeding.

    During the week of July 22, 2002, the total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on RTS) reached 529 thousand contracts or 1 831 million rubles in underlying value. 13 770 trades were executed, 10.9% more than the week before. Figures for the previous week are as follows: 12 418 trades, 482 thousand contracts with an underlying value of 1 900 million rubles.
