HKEx 2012 First Quarter Results

Profit attributable to shareholders decreased to $1,148 million in the first quarter of 2012 against$1,238 million for the same period in 2011. The decrease was mainly due to lower turnover-related income and higher operating expenses, but partly offset by higher net investment income.

Deutsche Börse opened the 8th Entry and General Standard Conference in Frankfurt today. The event takes place from 7 to 9 May 2012 and is aimed at listed companies in the Entry and General Standards as well as investors and analysts. Over 70 young companies and SMEs will present their business models and the figures from their latest annual financial statements as part of an investor and analysts’ conference. In addition, current financing and capital market issues will be discussed in relation to the needs of exchange-listed SMEs.

NASDAQ OMX (NASDAQ:NDAQ) today starts trading in a new series of ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) from Swedbank Robur. The ETF portfolio from Swedbank Robur is named Swedbank Robur ETF and today three new ETFs were listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.

ICAP Reports Total Electronic Broking Volumes On BrokerTec And EBS Platforms Of US$714.2bn For April

ICAP, the world’s leading interdealer broker, announces today that average daily volumes on the BrokerTec and EBS platforms for April were US$714.2bn, a decrease of 5% month-on-month. This reflects the seasonal slowdown over the Easter period. For April year-on-year volume, there was a decrease of 13%.

ESMA Launches A Call For Evidence On Transaction Reporting

This call for evidence seeks to collect interested parties’ views on what elements ESMA should consider in its work on guidelines on harmonised transaction reporting, as well as opinions on what areas of the OTC derivatives guidelines need to be updated. On the basis of responses received to this call for evidence, ESMA will define its further work on guidelines on harmonised transaction reporting and launch a full public consultation.
