  • ADX Achieves 99% In Disclosure Compliance

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) announced that it has succeeded in achieving a compliance rate of 99% regarding the disclosure of the 1st quarter financial statements of its listed public joint stock companies within the deadline of 45 days from the end of the financial period.

  • Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission: C.L. Management Services Limited And Its Director Fined $1.5 Million For Unlicensed Activities

    The Eastern Magistrates’ Court today fined C.L. Management Services Limited (C.L. Management) and its sole owner and director Ms Clarea Au Suet Ming a total of $1.5 million for unlicensed activities. Au was also sentenced to a total of six months’ imprisonment suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay the Securities and Future Commission’s (SFC) investigation costs.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

    Thank you very much for inviting me to speak at ICMA today.

    It is good news that the euro area capital markets are now starting to show some signs of de-fragmentation. The ECB’s financial integration report, released last week, shows improvements in integration of money markets, bond markets and equity markets. Indeed, price and quantity based indicators of financial integration point out that, although still worse than before crisis, the integration in European financial markets has significantly improved.  Yet I think there is a risk that, as we celebrate receding fragmentation, we miss the key question. And that is: what are we trying to achieve via de-fragmentation?

    The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) today announced that Thomas A. Wittman has been appointed Executive Vice President, Global Head of Equities, reporting directly to Hans-Ole Jochumen, President, Global Trading & Market Services, NASDAQ OMX. Mr. Wittman will oversee the global cash equities and equity derivatives businesses. The appointment follows the recent announcement of Hans-Ole Jochumsen’s elevation to President, Global Trading & Market Services at NASDAQ OMX.

  • Thai Bourse Joins 16 Educational Institutions In Promoting Research On Capital Market

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s Capital Market Research Institute (CMRI) and 16 leading educational institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the “2014 Capital Market Research Sponsorship” project, which has been going on for four years. This initiative, aimed at supporting graduate and doctorate students to create research studiesthat will further develop Thailand’s capital market.  The bourse also held a ceremony to award the “Outstanding Capital Market Research 2013”.

  • DGCX Polypropylene PP Futures Performance

    Compared to two week ago, the PP futures price movement saw DGCX PP July contract moving sideways with trading range of 1,444 to 1,474 per tonne. The premium to China futures (DCE) prices has increased to USD 60-65 per tonne (Exclude the Duty and VAT) as depicted on Figure 2. Activities were shown on DGCX PP September contract. On the China front, the DCE September contract moved sideways amid labor day holiday break and many awaits the delivery of May contract which expires on May 16, 2014. The CNY strengthened from 6.2550 to a dollar two week back to 6.2334 to a dollar. Please find the attached statistics since inception as well as a snapshot on the gross price comparison between DCE 1409 and DGCX 1407 in US dollar.
