Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Reprimands And Fines Chang Chyi

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has reprimanded and fined Mr Chang Chyi, an employee of Core Pacific – Yamaichi International (HK) Limited (Core Pacific), $50,000 for breach of the SFC’s Code of Conduct.

BSE Resolved 201 Investors’ Complaints Against Companies During The Month Of December, 2016

During the month, BSE received 76 complaints against 70 companies. In the same period 159 complaints were resolved against 142 listed companies. These resolved complaints include complaints brought forward from the previous periods.

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange reported December and full-year 2016 vollumes today. Futures volume for January through December 2016 totaled 26,930,770 contracts, up 10.4% year-over-year, a significant increase.

TMX Group today announced that Montréal Exchange (MX) set a new total volume record in 2016 with 91.9 million contracts traded, smashing the previous record of 76.7 million contracts established in 2015. Financial Services Superintendent Maria T. Vullo today announced that the Department of Financial Services’s (DFS) landmark risk-based anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering regulation is now in effect. As of January 1, 2017, regulated institutions must maintain programs to monitor and filter transactions for potential Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) violations and prevent transactions with sanctioned entities, and certify compliance with the regulation annually to DFS.
