UK’s Financial Conduct Authority: Customers To Be Shown How Much They Could Gain From Shopping Around For An Annuity

Annuity providers will be required to inform their customers how much they could gain from shopping around and switching provider before they purchase an annuity under plans announced today by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Singapore Attorney-Genera, Singapore Commercial Affairs Department, Singapore Police Force, Monetary Authority of Singapore: Masterminds Behind the Manipulation of Blumont, Asiasons and LionGold Shares Charged

Soh Chee Wen, also known as John Soh (Soh), and Quah Su-Ling (Quah) have today been charged for orchestrating a massive fraud to manipulate the market for the shares of Blumont Group Ltd (Blumont), Asiasons Capital Limited (Asiasons) (now known as Attilan Group Ltd) and LionGold Corp Ltd (LionGold) between August 2012 and October 2013. Charges have also been tendered against Goh Hin Calm (Goh), a key accomplice of Soh and Quah.

EBA Launches Second Impact Assessment Of IFRS 9 On EU Banks

The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a second impact assessment of IFRS 9, which builds on the results of its first exercise published on 10 November 2016. The EBA expects that institutions will be able to provide more detailed and accurate insights into their implementation of IFRS 9 as the information provided by the respondents in the first exercise reflected the early stage of implementation.
