FESE Response To ESMA On The Benchmarks Regulation Consultation Paper

FESE supports working with ESMA to construct a workable regime for benchmarks provided by trading venues. FESE’s response to the ESMA consultation on technical standards for the Benchmark Regulation focuses on the main following areas: the definition of regulated data, transitional provisions, third country provisions, exemptions to the benchmark methodology in case of sudden market events and the provisions for code of conducts and compliance statements.

• Over half (55%) of those who have invested in financial products did so on their own, rather than making the decision with family
• One in eight (14%) of over 55s spend little or no time researching financial investment products before handing over money, rising to a quarter (26%) of over 75s

EEX: New Monthly Record Achieved In Dairy Futures

In November 2016, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) achieved a new monthly record in dairy futures totaling 1,884 contracts which is equivalent to 9,420 tonnes. This is an increase of 10 % on the previous monthly record of 1,713 contracts (equivalent to 8,565 tonnes) which was registered at EEX in April 2016.
