  • European Banking Authority To Be Relocated To Paris, France

    The EU 27 ministers today selected Paris, France, as the new seat for the European Banking Authority (EBA). The selection took place in the margins of the General Affairs Council (Article 50), in accordance with the procedure endorsed by the EU 27 heads of State and Government on 22 June 2017.

  • HKEX: After-Hours Trading (T+1) Extension Proves Popular With Investors

    • Seventeen per cent increase in Equity Index Futures volume in the After-Hours Trading Session (the T+1 Session) after being extended to 1 am on 6 November
    • Investors actively use the T+1 Session to respond to news in the US time zone. Per-hour trading volume in the T+1 Session is 72 per cent higher in the period that overlaps with US trading hours

  • Payments Council Endorses Singapore Quick Response Code Specifications For Electronic Payments

    The Payments Council has endorsed the specification for a common Singapore Quick Response Code (SG QR) that can accept electronic payments by both domestic and international payment schemes, e-wallets, and banks. The new SG QR was developed by an industry taskforce co-led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Infocomm Media Development Authority.
