CME Group Sets New Open Interest Record In Henry Hub Natural Gas Futures

CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, today announced that its Henry Hub natural gas futures reached a new open interest record of 1,807,497 contracts on September 1, 2026, surpassing the previous record of 1,801,183 contracts traded on November 8, 2024.

As a result of the semi-annual review of the Austrian indices by the Index Committee, the following changes will take effect on 21 September: Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG returns to Austria’s benchmark index ATX after one year, replacing SBO AG. Two key criteria are decisive for inclusion in the ATX: average daily share turnover (liquidity) and free float capitalisation of the company. In the ATX five, which comprises the five highest-weighted stocks in the ATX, Raiffeisen Bank International AG will be added to the index, replacing voestalpine AG.

CFTC Staff Issues No-Action Position On Large Trader Reporting For Direct Participants

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Market Oversight today announced it has issued a no-action letter to Electron Exchange DCM LLC, a designated contract market, which would allow Electron Exchange to submit large trader reporting on behalf of direct participants as if Electron Exchange’s contracts were exclusively self-cleared contracts.

CFTC Issues Final Rule To Modify Clearing Requirement For Canadian Dollar- And Mexican Peso-Denominated Interest Rate Swaps

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today issued a final rule to modify its interest rate swap clearing requirement. The final rule updates the swaps required to be submitted for clearing to a derivatives clearing organization or an exempt DCO under part 50 of the CFTC’s regulations. The final rule amends the regulations to remove the requirement to clear interest rate swaps referencing the Canadian Dollar Offered Rate and the Interbank Equilibrium Interest Rate, also known as TIIE, and replace it with a requirement to clear Canadian dollar (CAD)- and Mexican peso (MXN)-denominated interest rate swaps referencing overnight, nearly risk-free rates.
