EBA Publishes Its Standardised Data Templates As A Step To Reduce NPLs

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today data templates that will create the foundation for NPL transactions across the EU. The templates will provide a common EU data set for the screening, financial due diligence and valuation during NPL transactions. An extended use of the templates is expected to widen the investor base, lower entry barriers to potential investors, improve data quality and availability, support price discovery and facilitate the development of the NPL secondary market.

Deutsche Börse Group continues to welcome major sell- and buy-side institutions as users of its Regulatory Reporting Hub service. With MiFID II becoming effective on 3 January 2018, the Regulatory Reporting Hub (RRH) will enable sell-side, buy-side and systems integrators' clients to meet their regulatory obligations easily and efficiently. Recently, BaFin (German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) had determined that Deutsche Börse’s ARM (Approved Reporting Mechanism) and APA (Approved Publication Arrangement) services are compliant with all relevant MiFID II requirements.

International Standard-Setting Bodies Launch Surveys On Incentives To Centrally Clear OTC Derivatives Trades

The Financial Stability Board (FSB), the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) have today launched surveys as part of their joint work to review the effects on incentives to centrally clear over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives trades following the implementation of the G20 regulatory reforms. Financial and non-financial firms that are participants in derivatives markets are encouraged to complete the surveys.
