Borsa Istanbul: Committed Transactions Market Of Sukuk Launched

Committed Transactions Market of Sukuk (CTM) is launched within Borsa İstanbul at July 2, 2018 and trading of lease certificates commenced. CTM operates in accordance with working principles of participation banks and other banks are also eligible to trading.

- The average daily turnover for the first seven months of 2018 was $121.1 billion, an increase of 56 per cent when compared with $77.4 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of derivative warrants for the first seven months of 2018 was $17.3 billion, an increase of 66 per cent when compared with $10.4 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of CBBCs for the first seven months of 2018 was $7.5 billion, an increase of 83 per cent when compared with $4.1 billion for the same period last year.
- Funds raised through IPOs for the first seven months of 2018 was $118.4 billion, an increase of 66 per cent when compared with $71.4 billion for the same period last year.
- Total funds raised for the first seven months of 2018 was $272.9 billion, an increase of 35 per cent when compared with $202.0 billion for the same period last year.
- There were 142* newly listed companies for the first seven months of 2018, an increase of 41 per cent when compared with 101* for the same period last year.

Since the beginning of this year, SZSE has continued to promote the reform of the trading suspension and resumption system, resolutely curb the phenomenon of "free trading suspension", "arbitrary trading suspension" and "long-term trading suspension", and earnestly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of investors, such as trading rights and right to know. Under the joint efforts of all parties involved in the market, the number of shares suspended by the SZSE-listed companies has decreased significantly recently, and new changes have occurred in the trading suspension and resumption in mergers and acquisitions.

The Corporate Governance Council (Council) today submitted to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, its final recommendations on revisions to the Code of Corporate Governance (Code). The recommendations aim to encourage companies to innovate and grow, and strengthen investor confidence in our capital markets. The Council’s final recommendations are summarised in Annex A and the infographic in Annex B.
