CFTC Charges Futures Broker With Engaging In Fraudulent Trade Allocation Scheme

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued an Order filing and simultaneously settling charges against Christian Robert Mayer of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, for engaging in a fraudulent trading scheme involving unauthorized trades in cattle, crude oil and wheat futures contracts. The CFTC Order requires Mayer to pay a $100,000 civil monetary penalty and imposes permanent trading and registration bans on him. The Order also requires Mayer to cease and desist from further violations of the Commodity Exchange Act, as charged.

ETFGI Reports Assets Invested In ETFs And ETPs Listed Globally Reached A New High Of $5.12 Trillion At The End Of July 2018

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm covering trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed globally reached a new high of US$5.12 trillion, following net inflows of US$41.13 billion in July. This marks the largest monthly net inflows since January, when the global ETF/ETP industry experienced net inflows of US$105.73 Bn, according to ETFGI’s July 2018 Global ETF and ETP industry landscape insights report, an annual paid-for research subscription service. BME: MARF Registers A New Synthetic Securitisation Bond Issue By Santander - It Is The Second Issue Of This Type Registered With MARF

MARF today registered a new synthetic securitisation bond issue launched by the Fondo de Titulización PYMES Magdalena 2, for a total amount of 166.3 million euros. This is the second time that Santander has registered an issue of this type with MARF, following a previous one in May 2017.

The Disclosure Office publishes its 2017 Annual Report
- The amended FMIO-FINMA provisions on the notification duty related to discretionary power to exercise voting rights (Art. 120 para. 3 FMIA) entered into force on 1 March 2017.
- The number of disclosure notifications increased in the reporting year compared to the prior year.
- In the context of various recommendations, the Disclosure Office worked on issues related to capital market transactions and with the notification duty under Art. 120 para. 3 FMIA.
