By end of August 2018, TAIFEX’s trading volume surpassed 200 million contracts for the fifth consecutive year, increasing 21.4% YoY to 200,112,455 contracts, with an average daily volume (ADV) of 1,227,684 contracts. Of all, Mini-TAIEX Futures (MTX), TAIEX Futures (TX) as well as Single Stock Futures (STF) were the main drivers with uppermost growth of 64.9%, 39.6% and 37.0% YoY, respectively.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Court Of Appeal Orders Retrial In Insider Dealing Case

The Court of Appeal has allowed the Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) appeal against the Market Misconduct Tribunal’s (MMT) decision that Mr Cheng Chak Ngok, former executive director, chief financial officer and company secretary of ENN Energy Holdings Limited, had not engaged in insider dealing in the shares of China Gas Holdings Limited in 2011 (China Gas).

Cboe Global Markets Launches Cboe® iBoxx® iShares® $ High Yield Corporate Bond Index (IBHY) Futures

- Cboe IBHY futures are exchange-listed fixed-income instruments designed to allow market participants worldwide to hedge positions and gain exposure to a key segment of the roughly $8.8 trillion corporate bond market
- The new Cboe IBHY futures are the only exchange-listed futures product linked to U.S. corporate bonds

B3 Begins Trading The First Fixed Income ETF In Brazil

As of today, B3 begins to trade the first Fixed Income ETF in Brazil. The product was developed by Mirae Asset Global Investments along with the index provider S&P Dow Jones Indices and was enabled by the B3 trading platform. The product will follow the S&P/B3 Fixed Income Index, which will measure the performance of a hypothetical portfolio holding three-year DI futures contracts

Corrected: FIA, Institute Of International Finance And Global Financial Markets Association Urge Fair Treatment Of Global Capital Rules For Clearing

FIA, the Institute of International Finance (IIF), and the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA) filed a response to the consultative report of the Derivatives Assessment Team (DAT) on “Incentives to centrally clear over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives” (DAT Report). The Associations agree with the DAT’s findings that there are impediments to accessing central clearing and urge global regulators to take action. Regulatory capital treatment of banks' clearing activity is the key constraint on client clearing capacity by service providers, according to the response.

Statement On The Expiration Of The Tick Size Pilot - SEC Division Of Economic And Risk Analysis And Division Of Trading And Markets

On May 6, 2015, the Commission approved the National Market System Plan to Implement a Tick Size Pilot Program (Tick Size Pilot) as a two-year pilot program that would widen the minimum quoting and trading increments–or tick sizes–for stocks of certain smaller companies. The Tick Size Pilot commenced operation on Oct. 3, 2016, and therefore will expire, pursuant to its terms, at the end of trading on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.
