CME Group Reaches New Open Interest Record Of 150.4 Million Contracts - Record Driven By Interest Rate Futures And Options Open Interest Surpassing 109 Million - Options Open Interest Reaches Record 96 Million

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, announced total open interest (OI) reached a record 150,400,590 contracts on June 11. Since the end of 2018, overall OI has grown 30%.

Through a variety of online resources and activities across Canada, the CSA, its members and other senior-focused groups are highlighting the issue and the need to recognize, report and stop financial abuse of seniors.

Ahead of the June European Council (Article 50), the European Commission has today taken stock – in its fifth Brexit Preparedness Communication – of the European Union's Brexit preparedness and contingency measures, particularly in light of the decision taken on 11 April by the European Council (Article 50), at the request of and in agreement with the United Kingdom, to extend the Article 50 period to 31 October 2019.

Good morning and welcome to the CFTC’s Market Risk Advisory Committee (“MRAC” or “Committee”). Since our last meeting in December, we have designated a new MRAC chair, Nadia Zakir. The MRAC will benefit greatly from Nadia’s experience and knowledge of financial markets and regulatory policy. I want to thank Chairman Giancarlo and Commissioners Quintenz, Stump, and Berkovitz for being here today. I also want to thank and acknowledge the MRAC members and invited speakers who will participate on the panels today.

ESMA Issues An Additional Five Positive Opinions On National Product Intervention Measures

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today issued five positive opinions on product intervention measures taken by the National Competent Authorities (NCAs) of the Czech Republic, Estonia and Slovakia. ESMA’s opinion finds that the proposed measures are justified and proportionate and that it is necessary for NCAs of other Member States to take product intervention measures that are at least as stringent as ESMA’s measures.
