Monetary Authority Of Singapore Monetary Policy Statement - January 2025

In the October 2024 Monetary Policy Statement (MPS), MAS maintained the rate of appreciation of the Singapore dollar nominal effective exchange rate (S$NEER) policy band, with no change to the width of the band or the level at which it was centred. Since then, the S$ has eased against the US$, amid broad-based US$ strength, but continued to appreciate against several other currencies in the S$NEER basket. The S$NEER remains within the gradually rising policy band.

New York State Department Of Financial Services Superintendent Adrienne A. Harris Secures $2 Million Cybersecurity Settlement With PayPal, Inc. - PayPal’s Cybersecurity Failures Led To The Exposure Of Customers’ Social Security Numbers

New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Adrienne A. Harris today announced that PayPal, Inc. (PayPal) will pay a $2 million penalty to New York State for violations of DFS’s Cybersecurity Regulation. An investigation determined PayPal failed to use qualified personnel to manage key cybersecurity functions and failed to provide adequate training to address cybersecurity risks. These failures led to sensitive customer information, including social security numbers (SSNs), being left unredacted and easily accessible to cybercriminals.
