UK's Financial Services Authority FSA Unveils Draft Rules On De-Polarisation

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) today published consultation paper 166 (CP166) setting out the detail of how it proposes to abolish the polarisation regime for those advising on packaged product business. The FSA Board's decision to abolish polarisation was announced on 21 November 2002 following lengthy consultation.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: After the close of trading on Monday, January 20, 2003, Cigar Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSXVN:CGR) will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange. The company is merging with Manhattan Resources Ltd. (TSX:MNR) to form Pivotal Energy Ltd. (TSX:PVX).

RTS: New Edition Of Partnership Clearing Rules Takes Effect

Effective January 30th, 2003, the new edition of the RTS Partnership Clearing rules approved by the Board of Directors on December 24th, 2002, will take effect. The document reflects new requirements of the Federal Commission for Securities Market Letter N 32 dated August 14, 2002, "On Clearing Activity on Russian Stock Market".
