Palestine Securities Exchange: No Trading On June 12

The Palestine Securities Exchange announced that the trading session of today, Wednesday the 12th of June 2002, has been cancelled due to the continuous siege and curfew which has been imposed on the city of Ramallah by the Israeli army. The settlement bank and Ramallah's brokerage firms are forced to close.

The number of UK shares traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 34 per cent in May to 62.4 billion shares, compared with 46.4 billion shares in the same month in 2001. There were 22 trading days in May 2002 compared with 21 days in May 2001.

CME's EuroFX Futures Volume Breaks 90,000 Mark

EuroFX futures traded on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) set a new single-day volume record yesterday, June 11, when 93,328 contracts changed hands. This record surpassed the previous record of 78,395 contracts set on Dec. 11, 2001 by more than 19 percent.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: Effective after the close on Wednesday, June 12, 2002, Campion Resources Ltd. (TSX:CPR) will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange. All the shares of the company have been acquired by Progress Energy Ltd.
