Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: Effective after the close on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, AVI Software Inc. (TSX:AVF) will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange. All the shares of the company have been acquired by Cognicase Inc.

Open interest in stock index products traded on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) set a new record of 1,615,399 positions yesterday, June 13. Volume was boosted by record open interest of 278,499 positions in E-mini™ S&P 500 futures and record open interest of 244,490 positions in E-mini Nasdaq-100 futures.

Members at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) on Thursday, June 12, 2002 set a new daily volume record in the CBOT's 10-year note options contract, trading 329,161 contracts. The previous high was 281,660 contracts traded on December 11, 2001.
