Deutsche Börse Up-dates SMAX Rules & Regulations - Transition To International Accounting Standards
As at January 1 2000, Deutsche Börse is adapting the SMAX Rules & Regulations to meet the growing requirements of the European capital market. Above all, SMAX-listed companies will, as of the beginning of the year 2002 reporting period, have to meet international accounting standards. Moreover, the regulations for preferential allocation of shares have been made more precise.

ASX Proposes New Reporting Requirement For Initially Cash-Rich Companies
Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") today announced that the market will be consulted shortly about the proposed introduction of a new listing rule. This proposed listing rule is intended to apply to those companies that were admitted since 1 July 1999* where the company had assets at least half of which were in the form of cash or in a form readily convertible to cash. TSE'S Largest Daily Value Ever! (And Counting...)
Today's trading value of $4.7 billion (as of 4:00pm) has surpassed the single largest one-day trading value in TSE history. The previous record was $3.7 billion on December 14, 1999. Trades will continue to be reported until 5:00pm this afternoon.

Program Trading Averaged 18.8 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Dec. 6-10
The New York Stock Exchange yesterday released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Dec. 6-10. The data indicated that during Dec. 6-10, program trading amounted to 18.8 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,013.6 million shares, or 190.2 million shares a day.

PHLX Waives Customer Transaction And Comparison Fees
The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that all customer transaction and comparison fees will be waived for orders up to 250 contracts entered through PHLX's Automated Options Market (AUTOM), effective January 3, 2000. Currently, customer fees are $0.14 per option contract.
