Third Consecutive Month Of Record Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges - Total Of 2.16 Trillion Euros In First Quarter - Xetra® Record In DAX, MDAX, Neuer Markt And SMAX
The German stock exchanges posted record turnover in March for the third month in a row: With 844 billion euros in turnover, the March total was about 19 percent (133 billion euros) higher than the record set in February and about 77 percent (367 billion euros) higher than the March 1999 figure. The total comprises 689 billion euros in equities and warrants and about 155 billion euros in fixed-income securities. NASD Board Approves Reduction In Nasdaq Market Data Fees For Non-Professional Users - Board Extends Nasdaq Pilot Pricing Program By One Year
The National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®), today announced that its Board of Governors extended by one year the Nasdaq® pilot pricing program, which reduces fees paid by non-professional users for the delivery of real-time market data. The board also approved a further reduction of monthly market data fees from $2.00 to $1.00 per non-professional user. Under the original program, the fees were reduced from $4.00 to $2.00 per user. Eurex Sets Another Worldwide Record In Trading Volume - Over 42.1 Million Contracts Traded/ Record Turnover In Shaz, DAX Futures, Index Products Overall And Derivatives On Euro STOXX
Eurex, the European derivatives market, set several new records again in March: With volume of 42.1 million contracts traded, the world's market leader beat its previous record of 40.2 million contracts traded in January this year. Eurex topped the March 1999 volume by 25 percent. A total of 121.5 million contracts were traded during the first quarter of 2000, an increase of more than 45 percent over the same period of 1999. CME To List Options On Agency Notes Beginning April 10
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will offer options on its new 5- and 10-year agency note futures contracts with the start of trading on Monday, April 10. Since their launch on March 14, CME agency futures have traded actively, with broad-based participation by the dealer community, hedge funds, proprietary trading groups, and local traders.

Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction, 4. April 2000
The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on April 4 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.1 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 18.1 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

LIFFE Trades £14 Trillion Worth Of Contracts For First Quarter 2000
The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) traded an average daily nominal value of £223 billion (357 billion) in March 2000 and traded £14 trillion for the first quarter, maintaining its position as the largest exchange in Europe by value.

Swedish Stock Exchange Trading To Be Exempt From VAT
The cost of equity trading in Sweden on the OM Stockholm Exchange is set to fall following a decision by the Stockholm County Tax Authority on Friday to remove the value added tax (VAT) requirement on equity trading on the Exchange. The decision will reinforce the OM Stockholm Exchange's position as one of Europe's most cost-effective stock exchange. Furthermore, it will lead to competitive neutrality with most of the other exchanges in the European Union.
