The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., today announced that shortly after market participants began entering quotes for Microsoft after a trade halt for material news dissemination, Nasdaq began to experience intermittent problems with its quotation system. By 3:02 pm, when efforts to recover the quotation system were unsuccessful, SelectNet and SOES were suspended. Rudolf de Soet will be released from his responsibilities as executive director of Euronext Derivative Markets, for personal reasons, with effect from 1 July 2001. Mr de Soet will continue to be associated with Euronext. Alan van Griethuysen, currently deputy director of Euronext Derivative Markets, will be appointed as the new executive director.
