Shanghai Futures Exchange And London Metal Exchange Jointly Launch Hot-Rolled Coil Futures Settlement Price Licensing Initiative: Cross-Border Cooperation Elevates Industry Services To New Heights

On June 17, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) and the London Metal Exchange (LME) held a signing ceremony on the sidelines of the Lujiazui Forum for the licensing of the SHFE Hot-Rolled Coil (HRC) Futures Settlement Price. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Jin Penghui, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Zhou Xiaoquan, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Office for Advancing the Construction of International Financial Center; Mr. Xu Xin, Deputy Chief of Pudong New Area; Mr. Tian Xiangyang, Chairman of SHFE; Mr. Chris Hayward, Policy Chairman of the City of London Corporation; Ms. Bonnie Y Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX); and Mr. John Williamson, Chairman of the LME. Mr. Lu Dongsheng, Chief Executive Officer of SHFE, and Mr. Matthew Chamberlain, Chief Executive Officer of the LME, signed the licensing agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
