  • BM&FBOVESPA Ends June With A 6.6% Increase In Its Derivatives Markets

    BM&FBOVESPA’s derivatives market (including futures and options) registered a volume of 35.4 million contracts traded in June 2008, a 6.6% increase in comparison to the same period last year (33.3 million). The average daily trading volume also rose, with 1.69 million contacts, 1.5% higher than the 1.6 million registered in June 2007.     The value of transactions in the stock market of the Athens Stock Exchange in June 2008 was €6,068,0 million (see chart 1) vs. €9,973.0 million in June 2007, a decrease of about 39%. In May 2008 the value of transactions had reached €10,610.9 million, including the transfer of the 20% of shares of Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (€2,548.7 mill.) from Marfin Investment Group to Deutsche Telekom.
