  • The Number Of Trades On FORTS Exceeded 235 Thousand

    On November 24th, 2008 the number of trades on FORTS hit a new record high. By the end of the main trading session the FORTS members had made as many as 235 180 trades in futures and options. The previous record was set on November 21st, 2008 when the FORTS members entered into 229 123 trades.

  • SEC Chairman Cox Statement On Meeting Of IOSCO Technical Committee

    The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Technical Committee launched three task forces to support G-20 aims following a meeting by teleconference today. The meeting was convened by SEC Chairman Christopher Cox to craft a detailed work program to address the continuing market turmoil, focused on strengthening financial markets and investor protections. Chairman Cox, who is Chairman of IOSCO’s Technical Committee, said: “IOSCO’s
