CASE 30 Index Broke A New Record

Buoyed by market positive sentiments and heavy trading activity, CASE 30 Index broke the 9,500 points level for the first time since inception, striking a new high of 9527.17 points, on November 1st 2007. Daily value traded has also surged to an average of L.E 2 billion (US$ 365 million) and market capitalization surpassed L.E 700 billion (US$ 130 billion); the highest ever in the history of the Egyptian stock exchange.

Recognizing the prominent role played by Egypt on the African front as well the continuous efforts of the Egyptian stock exchange in endorsing the African Capital Markets, Mr. Maged Shawky, the Chairman of CASE, was re-elected, for a second consecutive term, as the President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), during its 11th General Assembly meeting that was held in Accra, Ghana over the period October 28th - October 31st, 2007.

Adding ETFs Activity to the Executive Regulations of the Capital Market Law Within the framework of enhancing the Egyptian capital market and introducing new financial instruments, the Minister of Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin issued a new decree to amend chapter 3 of the Executive Regulations of the Capital Market Law to include a new section for the ETFs activity.

WCE Monthly Volume Reaches All-Time High

Total volume of trade on Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. ("WCE") during October 2007 surged past the record reached in June 2007 to set an all-time monthly volume record of 427,777 futures and options contracts. This level of trade is 30.1% higher than October 2006 and up 69.1% over last month. The previous total monthly volume record set in June 2007 was 352,231 futures and options contracts.
