SEC Announces $26 Million Fair Fund Distribution In Banc Of America Securities LLC Settlement

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the distribution of approximately $26.6 million to more than 250 investors in the Banc of America Securities LLC (BAS) settlement. In March 2007, BAS paid $26 million in disgorgement and penalties to settle SEC charges that the firm published false research on three companies and failed to safeguard its nonpublic research information.

According to the index rules and upon examination by the Expert Consultative Committee for Corporate Governance Sector Appraisal, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and China Securities Index Co., Ltd. (CSI) have recently announced to adjust the constituents of the SSE Corporate Governance Index on July 1, 2008. The adjustment will come into effect on the same day.

Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Sets Rapeseed Oil Futures Open Interest Record

On Jun. 23, 2008, the open interest of the rapeseed oil futures contract on ZCE (Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange) peaked at 50392 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 48290 contracts set on Mar. 31, 2008.
