Kansas City Board Of Trade September Wheat Volume

The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of September totaled 289,720 contracts for the exchange as a whole. Hard red winter wheat futures volume amounted to 280,597 contracts.

e CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that an average of 7,115 contracts traded each day during September 2008, a rise of 60 percent over the 4,457 contracts per day during September 2007 and 64 percent above the 4,343 contracts per day during August 2008.

CBOE Records Most Active Monthever - Average Daily Volume Of 6.1 Million Contracts On 127.2 Million September Volume

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that September was its most active month ever as 127.2 million contracts changed hands, with an average daily volume (ADV) of 6.1 million contracts. CBOE's September volume edged out the previous monthly record set in July 2008 when 126.2 million contracts were traded. September trading volume also was 89 percent greater than September 2007 volume of 67.2 million contracts.

Eurex: New Record Month With 229 Million Contracts - Trading volume Increased By 47 Percent Compared With September 2007 - Average Daily Volume Of 10.4 Million - Double Digit Million For The First Time

The international derivatives exchange Eurex reached a new record month in September with 229.4 million contracts (excluding ISE volume). The previous record month was January 2008 with 207 million contracts. The strong growth of 47 percent y-o-y (Sep 2007: 156 million contracts) is partly attributable to the increased use of exchange-traded derivatives during the recent market crisis. The average daily volume in September was 10.4 million, for the first time above 10 million contracts per day.

European Commission Proposes Revision Of Bank Capital Requirements Rules To Reinforce Financial Stability

The European Commission has put forward a revision of EU rules on capital requirements for banks that is designed to reinforce the stability of the financial system, reduce risk exposure and improve supervision of banks that operate in more than one EU country.
