DGCX Crude Oil Volumes Hit All Time High

As evidence of the growing appetite to transact business in the region, the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), the Middle East’s leading derivatives exchange reported record Crude Oil futures transactions on Thursday 19th June for it’s recently launched WTI contract. Approximately 3,500 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 2,813 contracts by over 20%.

DIFC Signs Agreement With UAE Central Bank Regarding Real-Time Automated Payments In DIFC

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) yesterday announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) under which the latter becomes the lead regulator for Real-time Automated Payments in DIFC (RAPID).

The DIFX Board of Directors announced on 19 June the appointment of Jeffrey Singer as the new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the DIFX Board, effective July 1. Singer fills the position vacated by Per E. Larsson who has accepted another senior position in the region, following a successful two years that saw the creation of the partnership between The NASDAQ OMX Group and the DIFX.
