FINRA Dispute Resolution Proposes Raising Threshold For Three-Arbitrator Cases - Single Public Arbitrator To Hear Investor Cases Of Up To $100,000 In Dispute, Up From $50,000

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced it has filed a proposed rule change with the Securities and Exchange Commission to have investor cases with claims of up to $100,000 in dispute heard by a single public arbitrator, an increase from $50,000.

Markit Announces Roll Of Markit CDX Indices

Markit, a financial information services company and owner of the Markit CDX indices, today announced that the Markit CDX North America Investment Grade, Markit CDX North America High Volatility and Markit CDX North America Crossover indices will roll into their eleventh series on 29 September 2008. The Markit CDX Emerging Markets index will roll into its tenth series and the Markit CDX Emerging Markets Diversified index will roll into its eighth series on 29 September 2008.

HKSCC Increases Penalty Fee For Securities Settlement Failure

Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited (HKSCC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), plans to increase the penalty fee for securities settlement failure. HKSCC will submit the proposed rule changes to the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for approval today.
